In preparation what starts on Thursday, which is known as the World Cup, we went to the USA vs. Nigeria soccer match at the Everbank Stadium in Jacksonville over the weekend. It was the last US "friendly" before the World Cup starts. A big game!
I had never been to a professional soccer match before - it seemed like time went by quicker versus watching it on tv! Minus the incredibly heat and hot sun, it was a blast!
A summarized version of our day, minus all of the new soccer/US chants I learned, in photos:

We watched the US soccer team tour bus pull in! |

WE WON! The final soccer was USA, 2 - Nigeria, 1.
What a fun day! I would definitely go again. It was also awesome to see all of the American pride & spirit - everyone was pretty much wearing red, white, and blue - or at least a soccer jersey.
Fun! I would love to attend a match. :)
ReplyDeleteWell done to the USA!! Shame about England dropping out so soon... we expected nothing less!! Hope you enjoyed your first football/soccer match! :)
